John Won
Information Designer, IDEO

John Won comes to IDEO.org from IDEO’s New York office, where he’s an information designer and data-visualization whiz.
John's specialty? Translating complex information into simple storytelling. John’s recent IDEO work has included projects in financial services, higher education, and the public sector.
Previously he served as a news graphics editor at The Wall Street Journal, where he covered financial, economic, and political news; worked on real estate financial graphics; and consulted in information design.
John first realized the potential impact of visual communications while working with political activists. Today, he volunteers with diverse social justice groups, including those that serve the LGBTQ community or low-income Asian and Southeast Asian immigrants and refugees.
For fun, John loves planning food/art/culture outings in his native borough of Queens in New York City. He is now on the hunt for the best Korean food the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer.
