Hope_rebecca- 7
Trained as a pediatrician, Rebecca Hope has a strong passion for the rights, livelihoods, and health of vulnerable populations and how we improve access to quality healthcare.
Rebecca is a pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine and sexual and reproductive health. She comes to Ideo.org from Harvard’s Women and Health Initiative, where she was researching sexual and reproductive health and HIV in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa. As a doctor in the UK, she led research focussed on improving quality of HIV and sexual health services for young people.

Rebecca has also partnered with Save the Children, Ashwini and Transaid on health projects in Nepal, India, South Africa and Madagascar that deliver micro finance, community health insurance and maternal and child health in rural, resource-poor settings.

She comes from the UK, where she lived on a houseboat. She studied medicine at the University of Leeds, received a bachelor’s degree in International Health from University College London and an MPH in Global Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She is a founder of YBank, a global health research lab focussed on improving the health and livelihoods of disadvantaged youth.
