Carla Lopez
Global Health Specialist

For the past five years, Carla Lopez has worked with Population Services International to promote global health through social marketing.
Her most recent posts were in Haiti and Papua New Guinea, where she applied marketing principles to projects such as the rebranding of a condom, the creation of an edutainment film to encourage men to support family planning, and the promotion of marital felicity in isolated villages to reduce sexual violence.
Prior to joining PSI, Carla conducted evaluations of youth HIV-prevention programs in eastern and southern Africa for MEASURE Evaluation and worked on cancer prevention through beauty salons in rural North Carolina. What she enjoys most about her field are the insights she gains into the aspirations, fears, dreams, and motivations of people all over the world.
Carla is also an enthusiastic DIY brewer, and loves learning new microbrewing techniques in diverse locales.
