IDEO.org Fellow John Won provides a brief update and a dozen fabulous photos from the field in Kumasi, Ghana where the team is working with the local community to prototype the #crapmap mobile platform.
These photos were mostly taken from the peri-urban and urban locations in Kumasi that we visited while deciding where to launch the #crapmap prototype. After multiple community meetings, and with dilligent assistance from our on-the-ground partner (Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor), we selected the neighborhood of Ayigya Zongo as the location for the mapping prototype. While my teammate Robin Bigio coordinated the creation of the location landmark signs, my other teammate Molly Norris (with assistance from Zach our super developer back in the States) got the #crapmap digital platform (which we're now calling Clean Kumasi) up and running here on cellphones and Facebook in Kumasi.
Stay tuned for updates as Clean Kumasi goes live!
