In Kenya for the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, President of the United States Barack Obama spoke with representatives from d.light Design at the Power Africa Innovation Fair. The team shared the A1 solar lantern and plans to reach 100M people over the next two years with Power Africa's help. The A1, designed in partnership with IDEO.org, is making solar light an option for everyone. The most affordably priced lantern of it’s quality, the A1 is improving health, increasing productivity, and helping families save money by switching over from harmful kerosene. President Obama affirmed that this was a game-changing product and congratulated the d.light team on positively impacting millions of lives.
