Jocelyn Wyatt Leads Panel at Clinton Global Initiative

IDEO.org Co-Lead Jocelyn Wyatt leads a panel at this year's Clinton Global Initiative Annual Conference, titled “Form and Function: Designing for Humanity."

Panelists discuss the role that design plays in providing successful humanitarian products and services and how design can contribute to creating sustainable and scalable initiatives around the world. 

The group of experts on the panel represented varied disciplines, ranging from biomimicry (Janine Benyus, president of The Biomimicry Institute); to industrial design and branding (Yves Behar, founder and chief designer of fuseproject); to South Asian politics (Mohammed Waheed, the vice president of the Republic of the Maldives). Startup culture was represented by Jessica O. Matthews, co-founder and CEO of Uncharted Play, which has invented a soccer ball that generates electricity to light an LED light or charge a cell phone.
